Hungarian Developers Save 6.5 Hours a Week with AI
According to AWS research, Hungarian software developers save an average of 6.5 work hours per week by using AI tools. This could amount to up to 312 hours per developer annually, and the freed-up time is mainly spent on solving complex problems, verifying results, and mastering new technologies.
In a study conducted by Amazon Web Services, 500 Hungarian software developers were surveyed. 82% of respondents use AI tools daily, and 94% use them weekly.
Key findings include that 77% of participants experienced an improvement in productivity, while 32% reported significant progress. The average weekly time gain is 6.5 work hours, which amounts to 312 hours per year over 48 working weeks.
Respondents spend the freed-up time primarily on solving more complex technical problems (33%), reviewing AI-generated results (30%), and learning new technologies (27%). According to the study, 71% already see a competitive advantage in their organization.
Developers believe that AI will not eliminate the profession but will transform job roles: 67% think that within five years AI agents will become a standard part of teams, while 69% expect that most of their role will involve overseeing and coordinating AI systems.
