Honor Robot Phone: One Unit in Hungary, I Tested It
The Honor Robot Phone features a 200‑megapixel gimbal camera that physically protrudes from the phone and can move. The device is only sold in China, but I managed to test one unit in Hungary.
The 200‑megapixel camera mounted on the back of the Honor Robot Phone physically protrudes from the phone, powered by a motorized gimbal that can reach speeds of up to 360 degrees per second. The system consists of more than a hundred precision components, and the titanium alloy gimbal weighs 2.6 grams.
The camera retracts into the back panel when not in use, functioning as a conventional primary camera. It can be activated with the display button and controlled via a virtual joystick. Various tracking modes are available: Pan Follow, First Person View, Tilt Lock, and the AI SpinShot automatic rotation.
The device is equipped with a 200‑megapixel main camera, a 1/1.28‑inch sensor, and an f/1.6 lens that can face the user. It also includes a 50‑megapixel selfie camera, a 200‑megapixel periscope camera array, and a 122‑degree ultra‑wide camera.
Honor collaborated with ARRI, offering ARRI Looks profiles. The Robot Phone is a full‑featured flagship phone that can deploy the gimbal camera when needed, eliminating the need for an additional device.
I was only able to test one unit in Hungary; the device is currently sold exclusively in China.
