Meta Unveils Camera‑Free Ray‑Ban Smart Glasses and Pocket‑Sized AI Tamagotchi

At the Meta Connect 2026 event, the company introduced two new devices: Ray‑Ban Meta Audio, a completely camera‑free smart glasses, and Muse Charm, a pocket‑size AI assistant. These innovations signal the company's direction in wearable technology and personalized artificial intelligence.

During the Meta Connect 2026 event, the company unveiled the Ray‑Ban Meta Audio smart glasses, which are entirely camera‑free. The device weighs 43 grams, has a 12‑hour battery, and enables listening to music, podcasts, making phone calls, and using live translation. The Audio is available in two designs – Clubmaster and Burbank – with 23 color‑lens combinations, starting at $349.

Simultaneously, Meta introduced the Ray‑Ban Meta Gen 3 model, which still features a 12‑megapixel camera and 3K video recording capability. The generation is slimmer, offers up to nine hours of battery life, and includes a programmable action button.

The most unusual announcement at the event was Muse Charm: a pocket‑sized device with a 2‑inch OLED touch display that showcases an AI character. The character can be personalized in appearance, clothing, and voice, while the device is equipped with front and rear cameras, a microphone, 5G connectivity, and a USB‑C port. Muse Charm can perform tasks on behalf of the user, such as web browsing, form filling, or travel planning.

Meta plans to launch Muse Charm in December; its price is expected to be comparable to that of a smartwatch.
