Samsung Bug Causes Bespoke AI Smart Refrigerator to Shut Down, Food Spoiled
Samsung's 2024 Bespoke AI four-door refrigerators stopped due to a faulty software update, causing food spoilage. The manufacturer rolled back the update and sent experts for repairs.
Samsung released software intended for an internal testing environment onto its Bespoke AI refrigerators, triggering an immediate shutdown. Users who pressed the Update button in the SmartThings app found their fridges stopped, with the display and interior lighting going dark.
The issue affecting the 2024 four-door Bespoke AI series caused many users to spoil their food. Samsung promptly rolled back the faulty update and dispatched technicians for on-site repairs.
The company apologized and asked users to schedule a time with an expert. Currently there is no information on whether Samsung will reimburse the cost of spoiled food.
